A thoughtful combination
We chose to reinforce the most critical areas of the Hybrid Collection with aluminum, and use our aerospace-grade polycarbonate for the shell – all in a refined metallic finish. The result is the best of two worlds: the resilience and sophistication of an aluminum suitcase, combined with the light weight and durability of a polycarbonate case.
Zipperless aluminum frame
We dispensed with the traditional outer zippers and outfitted the Hybrid Collection with a high-grade aluminum frame at its core, securely riveted to the polycarbonate shell. Two latches with integrated TSA-Accepted locks provide an added layer of security, while giving you quick access to your suitcase contents without needing to pull a zipper around the entire case.
A superior carry-on handle
We focused on rethinking the critically important but often neglected telescopic handle, custom-designing every part from the ground up – from our rocksteady high-grade aluminum tubes to our sleek, ergonomic handle with the release button cleverly hidden underneath.

This beautiful light weight trunk is amazing... Coming from a Rimowa and Tumi owner, I've seen a few people with this brand of luggage that caught my eye instantly.
I actually met a girl who had a Monos hybrid carry on and she showed me some of the features... Seems like all customers end up being very knowledgeable with this brand as this brand truly cares about their product and its customers.
My experience with the sales process and product are phenomenal and exceeds my standards of luxury...

I initially loved the look and shape, but thought it was awkward to lift and carry because of the placement of the handles. It is huge and holds so much! After I packed it to the max, it weighed only 53 lbs, but seemed so much heavier because of the shape, I was actually worried about the handles or wheels breaking off en route either at baggage claim or when the wheels hit uneven terrain. This hybrid trunk survived a rainy and snowy weekend flying in and out of JFK with no problems. It was gorgeous to spot at Bag Claim!

First of all, I am absolutely obsessed with the Hybrid line! These are sturdy, lightweight bags and no zippers! They open and close easily, are totally secure and the color is beautiful! This trunk isn’t like trunks of old, it is sleek, tall and not bulky. No zippers is a game-changer for me because I’m always struggling with them. I was looking at the Hybrid Large but when I saw this, OMG - I had to have it!
So, you may be wondering, who needs a trunk? I didn’t buy this for my kids going to camp or school. This is for me!! I’m an overpacker, I always have been. I usually travel with 2 suitcases and then put overflow in my spouses. I’m always cold so even when traveling to a warm climate, I need multiple sweaters, hair stuff etc., lots of outfits (need options) and of course, shoes (loafers, sandals, sneakers, heels, etc). And of course, when traveling to a cold climate, sweaters are thicker, hiking boots, heated jacket plus another cold-weather jacket, snow boots, etc.
I started this obsession with the Hybrid line for work. I bought the Hybrid Carry-on Plus and the duffle for short work trips (2-4 days for what I pack). After using it several times, I then bought the Hybrid Medium for longer work trips (4-6 days for what I pack). I was looking at the Hybrid Large to complete the set and I saw this, the Hybrid Trunk!

Very roomy. Really enjoyed the easy to use clasps rather than exterior zippers which will last longer over time. Even stuffed full, the wheels rolled effortlessly in all directions over all types of surfaces. As we age, the quality and easy mobility of this luggage makes traveling more enjoyable. Very impressed with the design. This is our second purchase from Monos.

It's; beautiful, unique without screaming and drawing unwanted attention, wonderfully organized and glides like it's flying. My only concern is the quality and security of the latches. Incredibly strong materials were used everywhere else during the construction of this suitcase. It's like the latches were an after thought, made from the cheapest hard plastic available. I'm questioning how long they will last and wondering if there's a way to add a Non-TSA lock to keep dishonest hotel staff from snooping. Other than that ... Bellissimo!
